Abstract: This is a lesson plan for introducing students to the music of India by teaching them two short traditional Hindustani songs. Students are encouraged to explore and appreciate both the musical and cultural aspects of the tradition. The module includes song texts, English-language translations, renderings of the melody in common notation, audio files, and lesson planning information.
