Abstract: This is Chapter 6 of the textbook, Collaborative Statistics. Intermediate algebra is the only prerequisite for the textbook. By the end of this chapter, the student should be able to: 1) Recognize the normal probability distribution and apply it appropriately. 2) Recognize the standard normal probability distribution and apply it appropriately. 3) Compare normal probabilities by converting to the standard normal distribution. A Teacher’s Guide is currently available in print form and on the Connexions site at http://cnx.org/content/col10547/latest10. The on-line text meets the Section 508 standards for accessibility. The chapter includes 2 labs, homework, and review.
