| Abstract: | HyperCard by Apple was one of the first commercial hypermedia applications. It is a desktop based precursor of the WWW. The metaphor used is a collection of stacks of cards (= screen pages). Hyperlinks lead from one card to another. A scripting language called "Hypertalk" allowed to automate processes. Livecode is a largely compatible successor product by an independent company; it runs on various operating systems and is open source. The Livecode Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is a good start to learn how to program. |
